I guess it never occured to me that elevation and air pressure could affect how much gas you used for heating, but it makes sense. Kinder Morgan is being sued in Colorado for allegedly overcharging customers in this situation.
I don't pretend to be an investing expert. I'm just a simple investor who is a fan of MLPs. A recent IPO, Tortoise Energy Infrastructure, seems to be a way to hold MLP shares without having to worry about the tax consequences, especially in retirement accounts. This seems to be very similar to KMR, except with possibly multiple MLPs.
Looks like Inergy might be ready to do some shopping for more assets soon with a recent credit expansion.
A newer, bigger pipeline will increase capacity by about a third.
As I remember, Carole Coale has never been a big fan of Kinder Morgan and she recently maintained a neutral stance on KMP. I don't understand why she would point out prices of gas and oil are expected to rise. Kinder Morgan is a pipe line company that is not really exposed to the price of gas and oil.
